On November 24, 2023, around 6:00 p.m., an electrical storm hit the community of Checcapucara, Omacha district, in the province of Paruro, Cusco. Unfortunately, the storm killed Alejandro Samata Huamani and Cira Aquima Mirano, 26 sheep, and even their cat.
The incident occurred while the couple was trying to protect themselves from the storm, along with their animals. However, they didn’t’ survive the impact.
Their bodies were taken to the region’s morgue, while the 27 animals were buried in the field.
