HELP US PROTECT: “The poorest of the poor”.

Mission
At LALENet, our mission is to empower rural communities by educating them on essential lightning safety measures. We are dedicated to implementing Conventional External Lightning Protection Systems to safeguard both people and livestock.
Our focus is on assisting highland communities residing at elevations of 13,000 feet (4,000 meters) and inhabitants of the Amazonian savannah, who live in vulnerable thatched-roof dwellings.
Through our efforts, we strive to enhance safety and awareness about lightning strikes in these remote areas. living under thatched roofs and exposed to lightning strikes.

Our key projects
- Legislative Change proposal: Central to our efforts is the push for legal recognition of lightning incidents as natural disasters. We are working to introduce legislation in the parliaments of LALENet’s member countries, aiming to bring a transformative shift in how these incidents are addressed.
- On-Site Research and Support: We are committed to providing on-the-ground support and research. This involves funding our team of correspondents to travel to lightning-affected areas, where they gather critical information, assess the damage, and document the human impact of these events.
- Educational Resources Development: A cornerstone of our work is the continuous improvement of educational materials. Our focus is on revising and enhancing the Technical Guide, which is essential for the installation of Basic External Lightning Protection Systems in rural homes. This guide is a crucial tool in our mission to improve safety and resilience against lightning threats.
